Habits of the Mind of the Students in the Preparatory Stage

Abstract

  Neglecting the use of habits of mind causes a lot of shortcomings in the results of the educational process. The important characteristic of the habits of the mind is not only in the possession of information, but in knowing how to use and work on it as well, and this is what our students lack, as they need to use these habits in various mental activities and practices. This study aimed to identify the level of habits of mind among the students of the preparatory stage. The researcher prepared after reviewing the literature, a measure of habits of mind consisting of (108) paragraphs. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method. The sample of the study was consisted of (60) male and female students in my school (Aisha secondary school for girls) (Ibn Khaldoun) in the district of Tuz district Salahuddin province for the academic year 2018-2019, and was applied the measure of habits of the prepared mind has been used researcher statistical methods Pearson correlation coefficient, Fakronbach equation, T-test for one sample, T-test for two independent samples. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the mind habits scale in the  secondary school students.
