The present study aimed at finding out the effect of the teaching strategy based on the method of problem solving in the acquisition of concepts in mathematics students fourth grade scientific for the second semester of the academic year (2016 - 2017). In order to verify the research objectives, the researcher formulated the following zero hypothesis:
- The researcher conducted an experiment that lasted a full semester. The following procedures were adopted:The experimental design was selected for two groups (experimental and control). The researcher selected the secondary school of faith and the statement. The sample was composed of (56) female students. Were randomized to two experimental groups that were taught using a problem-solving teaching strategy and a student was taught in the usual way with 28 students for both groups. For the sake of safety, the researcher rewarded the two groups with some variables that may have an effect on the variable Independent (such as age, intelligence and past collection).
The research material was identified as chapters (5 and 6), 17 main concepts were identified and three behavioral objectives were defined for each concept (definition, discrimination, application). The researcher prepared the teaching plans for the two groups.
