The impact of using Mc Carthy strategy (Educational format) in developing historical concepts for fifth primary class pupils in social sciences

Abstract

The current research aims at defining the effect of using Mc Carthy's strategy (educational format) on developing historical concepts for fifth primary class pupils in social sciences. To achieve this aim, the researcher made the following hypotheses: No statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05), between the means of experimental group who learned by the educational formats and the control group using traditional method in the test of historical concepts for fifth primary class pupils in historical sciences. The sample consisted of (60) female pupils chosen intentionally from research society to group them in to (30) pupils in experimental and(30) pupils in control groups. The researcher also equalized the two groups in the following variables (time age measured in months intelligence, pre-test, academic level of parents). The researcher made a test in historical concepts consisted of (30 experimental items). The validity and reliability were checked. After applying on the sample and treating the data statistically, the results showed surpass of experimental group who using Mc Carthy's strategy (educational formats) over control group using traditional method. Given these results, the researcher strengthen the necessity of acknowledging history teachers in main methods and updated them with modern strategies to make teaching process depends on pupils participation through preparing teaching aides and active participation in class.
