Contemplation in the Coptic Monastic Organization

Abstract

Meditation is a means of faith and depth of positive thinking, and a process of astonishment in man as he senses the greatness of the Creator, and beyond this greatness is a great halo which is endless and unmeasured. Contemplation is one of the basic rules of all Eastern monastic institutions. The isolation is shared with reflection on the refinement of the monastic character. Isolation is all that the individual demands for the retirement with the Lord. The silence and tranquility provided by the desert lead to the silence of the senses and thus to the silence of the heart  which what the soul wants and what the body desires
