Culture and Education in the Morrish Age (667 - 759 AH / 1269-1359 AD)

Abstract

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings on Muhammad of the messengers of God be upon him, his family and his, companions. The far Maghreb is considered one of the countries which have gained a large share of science and knowledge and became a cultural echo the neighboring countries benefited from. This reflected the cultural and scientific development over the culture of the Rulers of Marin. Their scholars sessions which were held constantly attracting the interest of scientists and writers and their participation in these meetings, in the seventh century AH / thirteenth BC, the political and economic stability that prevailed in the country, was an important factors that led to the scientific and intellectual movement to rise up to a high level of knowledge.The scientific meetings experienced very grandeur of the era during the reign of Prince Abu Hassan Marini in the Marin State. The best evidance of that is when elite group of scientists accopanied him when he left Africa in the fleet that drowned. Some of those scientists were the scholar Sheikh Abu Alaba Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Zawawi, who was a specialist in the science of recitation of the glorious Qurans.
