The Anxious Personality and Emotional Vacuum of some Marriages

Abstract

The researcher  in his current research aims to identify the levels and significance of the differences and correlation in the anxious personality and emotional vacuum of (170) married male and female employees in the ( Commission of Integrity in the Kurdistan Region - Iraq and in the fourth directorate of   Municipality ) in the city center of Erbil according to the variables such as : (gender, age, duration of marriage, type of marriage, age difference between spouses). The research argues that there are positive signs of the lowest levels of anxious personality and emotional vacuum  in some marriages in which the couples peacefully live with each other . The researcher depends on the anxious personality scale prepared by him, and on the emotional vacuum scale prepared by ( Rasool, 2015 ). The validity and reliability of the two scales are checked. The apparent honesty value of the anxious personality scale is ( % 86.66 ) and the emotional vacuum scale is ( %93.33). The value of the stability coefficient of the retest method of the anxious personality scale  is (0.75) and the emotional vacuum scale is  (0.72). After applying the two scales together on the research sample and processing the data using (Spss ) the results show the following : 1. Statistically significant indicators,  that there is the level of anxious personality of marriages at the level of significance (0.05) in favor of the society. 2. Statistically significant indicators,  that there is the level of the level of emotional vacuum between marriages at the level of significance (0.05) and in favor of the marriages 3. The differences in levels of anxious personality and emotional vacuum  according  to (gender, age, duration of marriage, type of marriage, age difference between spouses) did not rise to any level of statistical significance, even though married females are more suffering than  married males at the scales levels   4. the result shows a positive correlation between  anxious personality and the emotional vacuum  at the level of significance (0.05). On the light of the results, the researcher presented some recommendations and suggestions.
