The Indication of Colour in the Poetry of the Alamjad king (d. 628 AH)

Abstract

       This research deals with of the indication of colour in the poetry of the Alamjad king.  The research is an objective and critical study that reveals the elements of creativity and beauty in shaping the poetic image. In this sense, the motif of  colour is a means of building the image and its beauty. The researcher finds that the poet has invested the aesthetic of the colour and the variety of its indications in most of his poems. The motif of colour is used to express the poet’s psychological state and the environment in which he lived. Furthermore, it is used to  provoke our human feelings.  The white and black colours are the most recognized colours in his poetry alongside  the brown to represent the poetic experience  of beauty and goodness. The symbolic meaning of colour manifested in his poetry is diversified in three axes - color and war, color and woman, color and gray-reveal  a matter that represents his poetic creativity and his sense of color’s indication that formed objective indication, and aesthetic values in forming the poetic image.© 2020 JTUH, College of Education for Human Sciences, Tikrit University
