The Implications of Using Electronic Games on Early Childhood Growth
Abstract
This research aimed to identify:
1- The extent to which a child uses electronic games in early childhood.
2-Implications of the use of electronic games in early childhood on the aspects of growth:
- physical b. mental c. emotional d. social e. linguistic
3- Possible alternatives of getting benefits from electronic games in early childhood.
The research used the descriptive analytical methodology, and the research is qualitative. Interview was used as a research tool for a sample consisting of (26) research units of different specialties.
The research reached a number of results:
1 - Parents followed their children in the use of electronic games.
2- The duration of playing electronic games amoung children in the whole sample of the study in a day ranged between (15-30) minutes for females and (30-45) minutes for males.
- Electronic games had no negative effects on both physical and mental developments, but negative effects appeared on motional, social and linguistic sides.
