Difficulties of Teaching in the Middle Schools from the View Point of Teachers of Mathematics

Abstract

        The present research aims at identifying the difficulties that face the teaching of mathematics in the middle study stage, through answering the following questions:


1- What are the difficulties of teaching mathematics in the middle study stage from the view point of male and female teachers of mathematics?


2- Are there any significant differences between the answers of male- teachers on the one hand and the answers of female teachers on the other?


     The research specimen constituted of (50) male and female teachers of middle schools in Mosul city; 25 male and 25 female who are still in service, in the study year 2018-2019. To achieve the aim of the study we relied on the questionnaire prepared by (Al Ubaidy 2002) which consists of 40 paragraphs distributed on 10 fields, and the questionnaire was checked for its credibility and stability. The researcher used statistical means to analyze the data; Chi- square test, weighted average and the Pearson's correlation coefficient, the most prominent results were:


1- There are some difficulties confronting the teaching of mathematics in the middle study stage.


2- There is no difference of statistical significance between the answers of male teachers and female teachers on the other hand.


The researcher presented a number of conclusions and recommendations in light of the results obtained.
