Abstract

The research aims at identifying the level of perseverance among the university students as well as identifying the differences in the level of persistence among them according to their variable element of sex, namely male or female, and specialization, namely scientific or humanitarian. In order to achieve the targets of this research, the researcher uses the tool of perseverance scale, which is built by the researcher's dependence upon Costa and Calic theory. As far as perseverance is one of the components of intelligent behavior, the researcher applies two scales upon a sample of (400) students who are randomly chosen. The research data are treated statistically using T - test for one sample.   The results of the T test of two independent samples show that perseverance is affected by gender and specialization. The research ends up with a number of recommendations and suggestions.
