The Historical Roots of The Iraqi National Identity Revolution of the twentieth as a model

Abstract

Research on the topics of social history is still limited in general. The reason for this is that these topics have not received the full share of researchers interested in this field, especially since the number of researchers specializing in social history is small, as well as the difficulty of this area. This research is concerned with studying the historical roots of Iraqi national identity. Perhaps the revolution of the twentieth century was a step forward to unify efforts to build an Iraqi national identity, especially that participation in this revolution included most segments of the Iraqi society and different geographical regions, Iraqi .The research reached a number of important results, foremost among which is the important role played by the Revolution of 1920 in uniting the Iraqi people to get rid of the British occupation. This contributed to the sense of the Iraqi national identity for all the Iraqi people, for the participation of all Iraqis from north to south. And their Kurds, Sunnis and Shiites, in that revolution, which was one of the most prominent results produced by the establishment of the Iraqi state in 1921
