Design of cognitive contradiction schemes for computer material and impact on the achievement of second intermediate grade female students

Abstract

The study aims at investigating (The effect of Cognitive Contradiction schemes on the achievement of second intermediate female students in computer material). The study was limited to the second grade female students in the intermediate school of Umm Al-Rubaieen for the academic year (2016-2017). The sample consists of (67) students. It was divided into two equal groups, the experimental group is taught according to the Cognitive Contradiction schemes strategy and the control group is taught according to the conventional method. The study requires an achievement test as a tool, it comprises of (30) multiple choice items. Validity and reliability were tested. The experiment was applied through (10) weeks, one lessons per week. After that, the achievement test was implemented on the two groups and the data were collected and analyzed statistically. The results showed that there a statistically significant difference between the experimental group and the control group for the benefit of the experimental group which has the higher mean. In the light of the results, a number of conclusions, recommendations and suggestions were reached.
