The Effect of Conceptual Maps Strategy in Developing The Innovative Thinking Skills on The Part of Primary School Pupils in Islamic Education in Iraq

Abstract

The current research has aimed at discovering the effect of conceptual maps in developing the innovative thinking skills on the part of the 6th primary stage in Islamic education in Iraq. The sample of the research has been chosen from the 6th primary stage pupils. Two groups are found (i.e. control and experimental groups  which represented the conceptual maps strategy. The second group represented the traditional. During the research, the two samples have appeared to be equivalent in these variables. To be mentioned, the research's tools are arranged and the total number of items are (25) questions of multiple choice. After the application of the test, the findings of the research have appeared to be statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05<_a) at the average of the pupils' performance.                                                                                           


 In the light of the findings, the researchers have proposed some recommendations like: the teachers of the Islamic education are to adopt using the conceptual maps while teaching. This can be attributed to its significant role in increasing the pupils' achievements as well as their innovative thinking. Another point to be regarded, is to arrange teaching courses and sessions for the teachers on how to use the conceptual maps effectively while teaching the Islamic education. Encouraging teachers to apply the newly discovered methods and techniques and to avoid using the outdated methods of teaching.
