Abstract

The present study tackles deviation of sentence construction: Deletion in the Glorious Qur’an as a model through studying the verses that  talk about safety. This phenomenon has been dealt with in semantics by rhetoricians, which takes context into consideration. The study concludes that deletion is one of the prominent features especially in the Qur’an that means omitting a word or more from the sentence. The research mentions some of the purposes behind employing deletion as brevity and others.

Throughout the study, the types of structures deleted are shown as particle, nouns or verbs. It has been shown also that the miraculous eloquence in addition to the magnificence of expression may come through deletion reaching the goals intended.
