Unemployment Anxiety and Its Relationship to Future Perceptions of Unemployed Graduate Students

Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the level of unemployment anxiety among both sexes of graduate students (who are not employed), as well as future perspectives and knowledge of the correlation between the two variables, the research sample consisted of (150) male and female students from the colleges of the University of Mosul, whose community reached (414) and the results of the research show the students’ feeling of high unemployment anxiety of both sexes. The researcher inferred by building a measure of unemployment anxiety that is of (20) items subjected to psychometric characteristics and was characterized by high honesty and consistency, and the scale paragraphs were distinctive, as the results indicated that future student perceptions are characterized by negativity and pessimism after the researcher applied a scale that he constructed that is (40) paragraphs and is characterized by high sincerity as well as consistency and the scale was distinguished, as the results showed a correlation between unemployment anxiety and future perceptions, as it turned out that unemployment anxiety contributes to forming the poles of future perceptions.
