the effect of (Cox and Masillas) models on the achievement of 5th secondary class pupils/ literary division in Geography

Abstract

The current research aims to know the effect of using (Cox and Masillas) models on the achievement of 5th secondary class pupils/ literary division in Geography. In order to achieve such an aim the following null hypotheses were made which state that : there are no statistically significant differences between the experimental group using  (Cox and Masillas) and the control group using traditional method . The sample consisted of (54) pupils by the researcher intentionally from the society of the research and divided in two groups with (27) pupils at the experimental group and (27) pupils at the control group . The researcher equalized between both  groups in a number of variables like age measured in months , IQ test , parents academic achievement , geography grade for 4th secondary class pupils / literary division  the academic year (2017-2018) , and mean average of 4th secondary class pupils / literary division for the academic year (2017-2018 ) . the researcher made a test in the geography for 5th secondary class pupils / literary consists of (36) items and was verified the validity and stability and after application to the research sample and analyze the results statistically revealed the superiority of the experimental group that learned the model(Cox and Masillas) in the collection and in the light of the results and the conclusion the researcher made a number of recommendations and proposals from them : Use (Cox and Masillas) models in teaching geography in all academic stages due to its appropriateness with academic content of the syllabus of education ministry and The effect of using (Cox and Masillas) models on achievement for second intermediate pupils in geography and develop their indicative intelligence .
