Abstract

The study aims at using remote sensing techniques and geographic information systems in monitoring changes in land use and vegetation cover. Therefore, the change in land cover between 1985 and 2017 has been studied for the district of Amiriya Fallujah in Anbar governorate in western Iraq, (Satellite sat satellite 1) and satellite (sat sat 1 MSS) for the year 2017. The classification classification was used to determine ground cover using ARC MAP10 3.).

The classification of five types of common floor coverings (agricultural land, natural plant, saline soil, water cover, barren land), land uses (human sediments and transport methods) with clear changes in these floor coverings Between 1985 and 2017, the area of saline land in 1985 was 18.43%, while the cover area (barren land and water cover) increased by 57.34% and 3.77%, respectively.
