The Psychological Welfare and its retaliation to Personality Style of (A-B) Type of University Students

Abstract

    The current research studied The Psychological Welfare of University Students. The subjects of the research are (260) students (males and females) from Tikrit University for the year of 2017-2018 of the third stage students.

    The researcher built the psychological welfare scale, which is part of the basic requirement for the current research, which consists of four dimensions: 1. Goal in life 2. The positive relations with others 3. Independency 4. Self- esteem

    The scale was formed in its first form of (56) items, the face validity of the scale was verified through showing it to a group of specialists in addition to take the discrimination and correlation coefficient between each degree to the total degrees of the scale. Therefore, the final form of the scale consists of (49) items. The scale reliability was calculated through retest method and counted (0.86) which is a good reliability coefficient. This is for the first variable of the study.

    After extracting the validity and reliability for the two variables (the psychological welfare and personality two styles), the researcher applied the two scales on the main sample of the research which consists of (260) students (males and females) form the University. After gathering the questionnaires forms, the data were statistically processed.

The researcher found to many results:

1-         The university students enjoy a psychological welfare.

2-         There is no statistical differences in the psychological welfare in relation to gender and specialization variables.

    Depending on the findings, the researcher provided many recommendations and suggestions.
