The Attitudes of Farmers of citrus Towards the Use of Integrated Agricultural Pests Management in the Al-Ala’m area in Salah al-Din Governorate

Abstract

This research basically aims to introduce of the attitudes of the farmers of citrus towards the use of integrated pests management in the field of agricultural in Saladin Governorate in Al-Al'm area, and to identify the attitudes of the farmers of the citrus towards the use of integrated pests management in each field of study. And also, arrange these fields according to their significance. Then find a correlation between the level of attitudes and some of farmers' personal characteristics. The research includes all the farmers in Al-Ala'm area distributors in three villages whom they are (450) farmers, and the sample of the study is (135) whom they are randomly chosen proportionally with farmers population and by (30%). The results of the study showed that the attitudes of the greatest percentage 87.4% farmers of citrus towards the use if integrated pests management in the field of agricultural control in Saladin Governorate in Al-Ala"m area came with the negative and neutral attitudes categories.  The results of the study showed that attitudes of the farmers of citrus towards the use of integrated pests management in the field of agricultural control are neutral is (56.3%) , in the field of biological control are neutral is (71.9%), in the field of mechanical and physiological control are neutral is (69.6%), in the field of control with the resistance varieties is neutral it is (57%) and in the field of chemical control is neutral is (47.4%). The field of agricultural control ranked in the first rank when ordered the ares integrated management of pests descending order according to the ratio significance, that the ratio significance for the agricultural control which is (64.5%) while the field of control by resistance varieties in the last rank in ration significance (57.42%). The research also showed a moral correlation relationship between the attitudes and the variables off the level of exposure to sources of agricultural information, the attitudes towards change. The results also showed that there is no moral correlation relationship between the attitudes and the age, and number of years in cultivation of citrus for the farmers
