The aim of the study is to theoretically explicate the relationship between cognitive poetics and literary genres. This study highlights the prominent ideas that cognitive poetics assists in teaching any literary genre especially, poetry. These ideas are exploiting metaphor in discussing aesthetically and cognitively any literary genre like poetry.
